I was born and raised in Washington, D.C.
I went to DC Public Schools.
I’ve lived every chapter of life in this city —
kid, student, worker, small business owner, federal employee, community builder.
This isn’t a political story.
It’s a D.C. story.
The Work That Shaped Me
I grew up in a family business that’s been part of this city since 1977.
That’s where I learned what real work looks like — how to treat people with dignity, and how hard it is to keep a small business alive when the city that depends on you doesn’t always make it easy.
Professionally, I spent years working inside the FBI and alongside federal law enforcement agencies — identifying system failures and fixing them.
Not spinning them. Fixing them.
Why I’m Running
I didn’t decide to run for Mayor because of a résumé.
I decided to run because I live here.
And if you live here, you know exactly what’s broken.
You know what it’s like to buzz an employee just to buy deodorant because retail theft is out of control.
You know what it’s like to watch rats take over parks and sidewalks while City Hall treats it like background noise.
You know the gut punch of watching neighborhood restaurants and bars close — squeezed by crime, high rents, Initiative 82, and a bureaucracy that never seems to say yes.
You know small business owners buried in paperwork while big developers skip the line.
You know what it’s like to wait months for basic services — or get passed from agency to agency while no one takes responsibility.
You know leaders who blame everyone else while nothing actually improves.
And if you’re a parent, you know the DC lottery is great if your kid gets into their first choice, but what about the kids that don’t? In a city where “guaranteed school” doesn’t mean a guaranteed education, too many kids are left rolling the dice.
Where I’m Coming From
I’m not talking about this from the comfort of a political career.
I’m talking about it as someone who’s fed up — like you — and ready to do something about it.
